Daily Devotion 02/12/2025.
“So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.” (Luke 15:20, NLT)
We all knew that the prodigal son wasted his father's wealth, and ended up working in a pig pen. But what gave the boldness to go back home despite feeling so unworthy? That boldness came because he knew who his father was and what family he belonged to. When you understand your position, it will change your condition.
When you understand that you’re a child of the Most High God, you know that you weren’t created to go through life feeling defeated, condemned, and guilty. God created you to be victorious, to leave your mark, to set new standards for His glory.
Your condition may be bad because of your own poor choices and sins. But the right attitude is: “I’ve made mistakes, but I understand my position. I may feel unworthy, but I’m going to arise and go to my Father’s house.” In my Father’s house, there’s no judgment, no condemnation.
In my Father’s house, there’s mercy. There’s a Father who comes running to embrace you. Why don’t you arise this 2nd day of December? Let today be a new beginning. He’s already forgiven you. Come back to the Father’s house.
Prayer: “Father, thank You that Your mercy is bigger than my sins and mistakes. Thank You that You are not holding my past against me. Thank You that I am forgiven. I’m coming boldly to Your house right now. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
